To the left
of the cathedral is the
Rectory, originally
11th-century but rebuilt in the first half of the 15th-century.
The same may be said for the
Palazzo Vescovile
or
Bishop's Palace which was begun in the same
period but finished in the late 17th-century, the date of the
neighboring
Seminary as well.
The
Palazzo
Pretorio stands on a slight elevation on the eastern
side of the large square which is named after Mino da Fiesole.
The Palazzo is a picturesque structure prevalently 15th-century
in style, preceded by a light architreved porch.
The small church
of
Santa Maria Primerana, with a 16th-century
porch in front, closes off the square on the east together with
the Palazzo Pretorio.
