Tradition of Florentine Silverware

E-mail

The early history is a "classic": a young artisan, in love with his trade wants to set up his own shop after years of apprenticeship. However, when the artisan is a silversmith like Ermindo Pampaloni and the shop
is in Florence and on the Ponte Vecchio, to boot, the story starts out with all the ingredients to guarantee that it becomes very interesting. Today, decades after it was established in 1902, "Pampaloni Argenti", run by Ermindo's granchildren enjoys international prestige. This prestige is based essentialy on the original decision - and ability - to work on the most complex and demanding pieces that range from antique designs to the modern collections for famous jewelers, from big silver pieces for royalty to fountains, from religious items to prestigious sports trophies.
The most recent achievements are two exceptional projects: the "La Bichierografia" collection of approximately 140 drinking cups designed by the Roman painter, Giovanni Maggi in 1604, and the previously unpublished series of objects designed in the "twenties" by the great architect, Giò Ponti.
