Room of the Miniatures (generally closed). The room, delicately decorated in the 17th century, was destined for the safekeeping of jewels, that are now kept in the Pitti Palace. The room contains the valuable collection of miniatures on ivory and parchment by Italian and foreign artists. Notice the miniature of Paolina Buonaparte, Borghese Princess and Napoleon's sister, by the Swiss artist Counis, whose selfportrait is also shown.
