Statues by Folco Romanelli Index
FOLCO ROMANELLI Sculptor , media : bronze and marble
D.O.B. 6 January 1952
After pursuing a successful career as an international Fine Art dealer,
specialising in classical and contemporary sculpture for 15 years, Folco
Romanelli has dedicated his time to his own sculpting since the mid 1990s.
Folco Romanelli's training has been under the guidance of Charles Cecil at
the Charles Cecil School of Art in Florence.
Taking inspiration from the rich Florentine tradition of Art, Folco's work
draws upon his own wide reading in philosophy to offer insight into moments
of harmony , emotions , energy and spirituality in both his human figures
and in his animals that rapresent the surge and love for life.
It is interesting to notice if one belives that certain inclinations of
personality and natural ease in certain fields can be inherited , well Folco
's Grandfather Romano Romanelli and greatgrandfather Raffaello and great
greatgrandfather Pasquale were all sculptors that have produced important
monumental work all round the world , also on his mother side both
grandparents were known artists , Isobel and John Mortonsale.
Folco's work has been exhibited at the Galleria Romanelli in Florence at a
collective show of the most important twentieth century Tuscan Sculptors ,
in1997.
He has also exhibited in Paris in 1998 and 1999 at the Port de Versailles,
in Verona in 1999 and with both Asprey and Garrards in London.
