The Largest Island of the Tuscan Archipelage is Elba, ten
kilometers southwest of Piombino. It's land area covers 224
sq.Km. and its coastal perimeter runs along 147 Km.
Excellent ferry and hovercraft services connect the island with
Piombino and Livorno and an international tourist airport
operates at Marina di Campo with daily connection with Pisa.
Tanks to its temperate climate, its exquisite banches, its
interesting artistic patrimony and its fine cuisine and wines,
Elba has became famous as a vacation resort all over Europe. Its
extremely well-organized services insure a pleasant and relaxing
stay.
May and June are the best months to visit the island, which has a
rich garden that in this period is full of typical mediterranean
flowers. September and October are the best times for those who
love pence and quiet. In fact after the August bank holiday the
climate is milder and apart from bathing and swimming, it is
possible to have nice wulles in the countryside.
